a paris debut to remember: kobi halperin x deepa gurnani ss26
Last October – Spring/Summer 2026 – was a moment I’ll never forget.
It marked Kobi Halperin’s first runway show in Paris, in collaboration with Deepa Gurnani, and being there to witness it felt incredibly special. It was a culmination of years of work, vision, and persistence, and I was so honored to be present and supportive during such a milestone.
Meeting Jay from Deepa Gurnani for the first time was another highlight – what a genuine, gracious presence. Truly. The collaboration itself felt like a match made in heaven. The level that Deepa Gurnani brings to Kobi’s work elevates everything into a different realm. The craftsmanship. The artisanal embroidery. The way every piece felt couture in spirit, even while remaining ready-to-wear. This was not about trends – it was about mastery.
The colors were beautiful and considered. The textures layered and dimensional. The garments flowed beautifully on the body, bound together with metallic chains that added structure and cohesion without heaviness. Everything moved. Everything caught the light.
And the setting at Hôtel de Maisons, Karl Lagerfeld’s former home – was otherworldly. Intimate. Charged with history. Absolute perfection for a collection rooted in craft, legacy, and elevation. It was one of those shows where you feel lucky just to be there…to witness something coming fully into its own at exactly the right moment.
I cannot wait to see what comes next…for Fall/Winter 26 and beyond. If this is the trajectory, it’s going to be extraordinary.
